A new year note from Carl
I don't suppose any of us are sure of how this first part of 2009 will go. My suspicions are that the first six to nine months are going to be chronic, with only a tiny light at the end of the tunnel beckoning us all on. There will be awful suffering I fear. Infotourist is nothing but realistic, you may have heard Mike and Rosemarie discussing the utterly appaulling exchange rates on the show. Indeed a Goss trip to the Oberland has recently been dropped owing purely to the awful financal situation. We're desperate to get back, but nothing can be booked the way things are, so we'll be following the situation daily. I just thought I'd say to all of you lovely people, in the words of High School Musical.. 'we're all in this together'.. and what ever we're about to confront.. let us confront it together.
Much Love
'Winston' Carl

Aware that our start of the New Year home page is a little downhearted, here is a thing of beauty.. no not me.. the glorious Mascha!
But I'm still sad! (OK I don't look sad but I am)

It's always been inevitable.. and now the time nears..

Now I've got a smile on my face!

Bumble
October 2006 - December 2008

We arrived back at the house after a few days away in the 'gap' to find our beautiful Bumble had passed away peacefully in his nest. How that hamster was loved, oddly enough for many different reasons for different members of the the family. We all had close associations with him, me often as I secured the house for nightime. I would give him a 'special' nut, and have a quick word about the day as he chewed the metal bars of his cage. He never bit once.. despite the attentions of a toddling Hannah. Catherine couldn't stand to be at his burial, so I did it myself, with the inevitable tears. I had to open the shoe box to take one last glimpse. and give him a parting kiss. His paw still across his lovely serene face, as if deep in sleep when Jesus decided to take him.
God bless you Bums - Rest in peace.

Thanks Bums for everything.. and particularly for teaching Catherine the responsibilities of pet ownership.. which I'm glad to say she is holding to, with the arrival of some new members of the family.. Ladies and Gentlemen please meet 'Cuddles' a Russian dwarf hamster (maybe we should have named her Cuddleski)

But it doesn't stop there! Oh no! We're also joined by Flipper and Goldy (we'll let you work out which is which)
